Eyelash Extensions

  • Eyelash extensions are a type of cosmetic enhancement where individual synthetic or natural fibers are attached to the natural eyelashes using a special adhesive. The extensions are designed to make the eyelashes look longer, thicker, and more voluminous.

  • Because extensions are attached to the lash itself, they last as long as the natural lash growth cycle. It also depends on proper extensions application, products used and aftercare at home. To extend the life of the extensions, wash your lashes daily with eyelash cleanser, (we love prolong lash cleanser) also follow all aftercare such as don’t pull/pick your lashes, rub your eyes, expose lashes to extreme heat etc… Contact your artist when in doubt.

  • If it's your first time getting eyelash extensions, here's what you can expect:

Consultation: Your lash artist will begin by asking you about your desired lash style and examining your natural lashes to determine the appropriate length, thickness, and curvature of the extensions.

Preparation: Your lash artist will cleanse your lashes to remove any oil or debris that may interfere with the adhesive. Then place pads under your eyes to isolate your bottom lashes during the application process.

Application: Your lash artist will use specialized tools to apply individual extensions to each of your natural lashes. This can take up to 2-3 hours for a full set of extensions. You'll need to lie still and keep your eyes closed throughout the process.

Comfort: The application process is generally painless and comfortable. If you experience any discomfort, let your lash artist know, and they can make adjustments to ensure your comfort.

Aftercare instructions: Your lash artist will provide you with aftercare instructions, including how to care for your lashes, what to avoid, and when to schedule your next appointment.

Overall, your first eyelash extension appointment can be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and you'll leave with beautiful, full lashes that enhance your natural beauty.

  • The time it takes to apply eyelash extensions can vary depending on several factors, including the number of lashes being applied, the experience and skill of the lash artist, and the type of application method used.

On average, a Full set of eyelash extensions application can take 1.5 to 3 hours. This involves attaching individual extensions to each of your natural lashes, which can be a time-consuming process.

However, your maintenance appointments (refills) can be shorter, typically lasting around 45 minutes to 2 hours.

It's important to note that the length of the appointment can also depend on your natural lashes' condition and the desired look you're trying to achieve.

  • Things to avoid while wearing lash extensions for keeping healthy natural lashes:

    Do your research

Finding a skilled, knowledgeable and licensed artist is very important when getting extensions. Your artist must know the proper application, health and safety steps and client education.

Choose extensions that are suitable for your natural lashes

If your lash extensions are too heavy for your natural lashes to be able to support, this can cause your lashes to shed prematurely, which can impact their natural growth cycle. Lash extensions that are too heavy for your natural lashes can cause your lashes to grow back thinner and lead to natural lash loss.

    Listen to your artist

Going back to natural lash health, if your artist’s professional opinion is to pick a set that is lighter/shorter, trust her/him. Lash artists see what you cannot see; how many healthy lashes you actually have, how long they are and what they can handle.

    Wash your lashes daily

One of the most important steps that can affect how long your lashes will last and/or avoid eye infections etc… is making sure you are washing your lashes with a lash cleanser. They are specifically made for eyelash extension, to keep your extensions squeaky clean with no build-up.

    Follow all aftercare

Avoiding rubbing your eyes, picking/pulling on your lashes and exposing them to extreme heat are some of the most important steps for a good aftercare.

  • Eyelash extensions are designed to be semi-permanent, meaning that they will naturally shed along with your natural lashes. As a result, you'll need to have your eyelash extensions filled in every 2-3 weeks to maintain their fullness and volume.

The exact timing of your fill appointments can depend on several factors, including the rate at which your natural lashes grow, how well you care for your extensions, and the type of adhesive used.

During a fill appointment, your lash artist will add new extensions to fill in any gaps left by natural lash shedding and remove any extensions that have grown out or become damaged. This helps to maintain the full, lush look of your eyelash extensions.

It's important to note that waiting too long between fill appointments can result in more extensive and time-consuming work, as your lash artist may need to add more extensions to achieve the desired look. Regular fill appointments can help keep your extensions looking their best and can also help prevent damage to your natural lashes.

  • Active Eye Infections:

Clients who have conjunctivitis, a sty, blepharitis and other eye infections, they are not lash candidates. If you have signs of an infection, we recommend you see your physician. Once the infection is gone, you've got the green light to reschedule your lash appointment!

    Recovering from Procedures:

If you are recovering from any type of eye procedure (cataract surgery, a LASIK procedure, a surgical eye or brow lift, etc.), you will need to be released from your doctor’s care before getting lash extensions.

  • Resting your head and lashes on a silk pillowcase is ideal when you have eyelash extensions. Not only will it allow your lashes and the extensions themselves to glide on the surface while you sleep, but you will also avoid any lashes getting caught or pulled like when you use a cotton pillowcase.

  • It is not recommended to apply mascara while wearing eyelash extensions. If you must, choose a water-based mascara that is easy to clean to avoid damage to the natural lashes caused by build ups or tugging and pulling during clean-up.

  • When you stop getting lash extensions, your natural lashes will gradually return to their original length and thickness.

You may notice that your natural lashes look shorter and sparser than you remember, but this is just because you've become used to the fuller look that the lash extensions provided. As your natural lashes grow out, they will eventually replace the lash extensions.

It's also possible that you may experience some shedding of your natural lashes as they adjust to not having the weight of the lash extensions. This is a normal part of the process, and your lashes will typically regrow within a few weeks.

To help support the health of your natural lashes, you can use lash conditioners or serums that are specifically formulated to promote lash growth and strength. You can also practice good eyelash hygiene by gently cleansing your lashes daily and avoiding rubbing or pulling on them.

Eyelash Lamination

  • Eyelash lamination is basically a perm for your natural lashes! This treatment enhances your natural lashes and opens your eyes. You may use mascara with this treatment but clients say they don’t need it after this service.

It’s a great treatment for those with straight lashes, or short lashes that don’t stand out on your face.

  • Once you’re comfortably laying down on the treatment bed, your technician will isolate your bottom lashes by applying an under-eye gel mask.

After cleansing and preparing lashes for the process, lash curlers are placed on the lid with the help of gentle skin glue. Your lashes are secured to the curlers using lash glue.

The first serum will be applied at this time and left on for 7-12 minutes depending on the lash hair quality (thick or thin).

Then the first serum is removed, and a second serum is applied and left on for another 4-8 minutes.

This second serum is removed, at which point tint may be applied if requested.

After removing the tint, a final is applied to nourish the lashes. The curlers are then removed and your treatment is complete!

  • The treatment typically takes around 45-60 minutes to complete and can last for up to six weeks with proper care.

  • Eyelash lamination will last up to 8 weeks, depending on the natural growth cycle of your lashes.

  • Please talk to your doctor before making the appointment if:

You’ve received Lasik or other laser eye surgery in the last 3 months

    Chemotherapy treatments

    Glaucoma

Keratitis, are prone to eye or skin infections

You are not a candidate If:

Your skin reacts to a requested patch test.

You have alopecia, chronic inflammation of the eye, and claustrophobia.

  • If properly done, lamination doesn’t cause any damage.

The treatment itself is gentle on your lashes. However, if your lashes are weak or damaged, we do not recommend scheduling a lash lamination to avoid further damage.

  • A lash lamination is a painless treatment, though you may feel a small amount of pressure at your lash line as the lashes are glued. You will have to have your eyes closed for up to 45 minutes, so be prepared to get sleepy - it can be quite relaxing!

  • Yes, but please wait 24 hours after your lamination procedure before applying any eye makeup and mascara.

  • Whether lash lamination is better than lash extensions depends on your personal preferences and needs.

Lash extensions involve attaching individual synthetic or natural lashes to your natural lashes using adhesive. They create a more dramatic, full look and can be customized in terms of length, thickness, and curl. Lash extensions can last several weeks with proper care and maintenance.

A lash lamination, on the other hand, is a treatment that curls and lifts your natural lashes using a chemical solution. It creates a more natural-looking effect by enhancing your natural lashes' curl and length. A lash lift typically lasts 6-8 weeks before needing to be redone.
